Parents, please send me a picture on <em>Remind<\/em> so I can see what fun each Kindergartener is up to today!<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Kindergarten students can&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Literacy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lexiacore5.com\/?SiteID=5311-4757-2076-1300\">LexiaCore<\/a> on a computer or tablet and practice language arts skills.\n<ul>\n<li>Username: <strong>first name<\/strong>\u00a0Password: <strong>thesummit<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/storylineonline.net\/\">StoryLine Online<\/a> on a computer or tablet and listen to a WINTER read-aloud. <a href=\"https:\/\/storylineonline.net\/books\/just-snow-already\/\">This book seems fitting!<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create a list of CVCe words using the magic E and explain to your family how these words change the vowel sound in the middle!<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Make a list of some words that have digraphs! (CHocolate, SHuttle, WHale) They don&#8217;t have to start with the digraph either.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Write down as many words as you can think of that rhyme with MAN. Try it again with CAT, MIT, FIN. Challenge a family member to see who can think of more!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Write your sight words on half sheets of paper. Crumble them up and have an indoor snowball fight! When you&#8217;re done, open the words and read them, then crumble them up again and again!<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Read a new book and see if you find any beginning BLends! (SLide, SNow)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ixl.com\/signin\">IXL<\/a> on a computer or tablet and practice math skills.\n<ul>\n<li>Username: <strong>first name<\/strong>\u00a0Password: <strong>thesummit<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conduct your own session of &#8220;Calendar Math.&#8221;\u00a0 What is today? Tomorrow? Yesterday?\u00a0 Follow our classroom routine.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Make your own number line using paper and string.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Play hide and seek with your family!\u00a0 You can even hide your stuffed animals around the house to add more fun.\u00a0 Instead of counting by ones, see if you can skip-count by 5s or 10s before you go and &#8220;seek!&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Go on a shape hunt in your house! Write down all the shapes you can find. They can be 3D or 2D!\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draw a picture of what you found and bring it in to show me on our next day at school!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make a pattern using buttons or another small object. What variations can you come up with? Can you make a challenge pattern?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Discovery: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find things around the house that use force and motion! Make a list of everything and try to challenge yourself.<\/li>\n<li>Think about your urban community building. Are there any outside features you want to add to your building? Texture? An additional building? Design?\n<ul>\n<li>Bring your ideas to school to show me what you have come up with!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For Fun:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make some play dough&#8230;<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.playdoughrecipe.com\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here&#8217;s a recipe.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make ice marbles: Fill a balloon with water and food coloring.\u00a0 Leave it outside in the cold and see what happens&#8230; we know what happens to water when it is below 32 degrees!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Build a miniature snowman in a baking pan. Use buttons, felt, pipe cleaners, or other materials to give your snowman its features.\u00a0 Make predictions about how long your snowman might take to melt. Now create an observation chart and check on your snowman periodically to record the melting process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make a fort in your bedroom or living room. Go inside and do some writing or reading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get some wiggles out with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gonoodle.com\/\"> GoNoodle<\/a>!\u00a0 You can dance, jog, wiggle, shake, and more!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specials: P.E.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is the last week of our 1 minute Jump Rope Challenge. Find your jump rope and get ready for the challenge. If you do not have a jump rope, you can find a line on the floor to jump over.
