Sorting

This week, kindergarten students are practicing important spatial and visual awareness and discrimination skills.  Yesterday, students worked on distinguishing left and right.  Students started by identifying their handedness and then learned the “L” trick for remembering the left side.  We enjoyed dancing to the Hokey Pokey with Maximo on GoNoodle to reinforce our learning!  Today, students brainstormed possible attributes for sorting math manipulatives.  We can sort by size, color, shape, function, and more! Students took turns sharing and discussing as they sorted.
