My name is… I like to…

Students are getting to know each other as we build our classroom community.  To support this, we have been playing a few team-building games.  On Monday, students enjoyed an interactive activity.  In it, one person starts by saying their name, an activity they enjoy, and adds a gesture to match their activity. The group then repeats back their sentence along with the appropriate action.  We continued building on our sentence/action by repeating with every student, so by the end we were saying all 14 students at once!  Can you imagine the gestures we came up with for each of the phrases below?
  • Mrs. Bradley likes to paint.
  • Maren likes to ride her hoverboard.
  • Coraline likes to do cartwheels.
  • Emerson likes to pet her cat.
  • Elise likes to spin!
  • Ryker likes to ride his bike.
  • Emery likes to make paper airplanes.
  • Anika likes to draw.
  • Violet likes to play with chalk.
  • Diesel likes to ride his Razor.
  • Felicity likes to play with dolls.
  • Allison likes to do gymnastics.
  • Norah likes to make beautiful butterflies.
  • Teddy likes to play with his iPad.
  • Danny likes to ride his bike really fast.
Ask your child if they can share their activity/gesture with you and if they remember any of their peers’!
