Kindergarten Farm-to-Table Food Tasting Fair

Isn’t it amazing how food brings people together?!  Kindergarten students have been exploring science and social studies topics surrounding the big idea: “Where does food come from?” Our explorations have included the study of rural communities, farming, plants, animals, and life cycles this trimester.  To tie it all together, students learned about the farm-to-table process. Today, we celebrated 3rd Trimester with with a “Farm-to-Table Food Tasting Fair.”  Students were asked to select and prepare a food and describe the farm-to-table process for their food.  Parents helped students select, shop for, and prepare the samples and the students completed the rest in class!  Each student researched their food, the processes behind it, and created a display for their table. An added bonus – our celebration even included a special Kindergarten performance, led by Mrs. Taylor, the Lower School music teacher.  Thank you to every family for supporting this project and for attending our fair!
