Community Helpers: Construction Workers Project

As part of our Social Studies curriculum the students have been learning about community helpers. Yesterday we focused on construction workers. We watched a video that showed a construction site and what life is like as a construction worker and then followed that up with getting to think like a construction worker while the students created their own construction pieces. The students were creative and focused as they used glue, play doh, and popsicle sticks to build their projects. Students created building structures and bridges with the materials and many of the students discussed the possibility of being a construction worker when they get older.
