Flexible Seating in the Classroom

One of the things I love as a teacher at the Summit is how we provide flexible seating in the classroom. Allowing students to have the choice of what type of seat to use, allows them to learn and focus better while they work. Some of the flexible seating options you will find in the Kindergarten classroom are wiggle seats, stools, oodles, lounge chairs, and a futon. Even providing clip boards for the students so they can be mobile while they work or relax and sit on the floor to work, allows the students to learn in ways that meet their needs.

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area. Our preparatory school setting offers an enriching early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum in a supportive environment. We have state of the art facilities, highly-qualified teachers and staff, and a large range of educational programming. Interested in enrolling your child? Learn more about our admissions process.
