Lit Classics in Middle School

Last week, 6th grade began the novel “The Giver” and did so by presenting their pamphlets about their chosen Utopian Society. We had quite a few interesting colonies represented, even one consisting entirely of frogs. This project is always fun every year as the creativity of the 6th graders is allowed to run rampant.

7th and 8th grade began their short story unit with the classic story “The Most Dangerous Game.” in addition to the story, they were responsible for comprehension questions and vocabulary. We will continue our discussion about this story this week and begin work on another classic “The Monkey’s Paw. ”
