The Thirteen Colonies

Sixth grade students have been learning about European motivations for colonizing in the Americas. We have examined several New England and Middle colonies, and now we’re examining the Southern colonies. Students are practicing their geography skills as we learn about each location, and they’re paying close attention to how borders changed across time. Their questions have been fabulous, and I’ve appreciated their level of engagement!
