Middle School:
Students have been working on a mathematical model to describe the interactions of humans and their environment. The environment in this case is an island designed by the students and illustrated using their knowledge of topographic maps. These islands have ecosystems and foodwebs designed by students, as well as unique human cultures from a time period of their choice. We are seeing differences in earlier cultures vs more modern cultures, as well as differences based on energy sources. This project has been challenging, but students continue to exhibit creativity and interesting insights into these complex interactions.
High School:
CHEMISTRY ASSESSMENT WEDNESDAY!
Students have been given a study guide, complete with solutions, to work through in preparation for their assessment on stoichiometry. This is meant to simulate what students will experience in college. How does one effectively study independently? How does a student use practice problems with available solutions to better their understanding of the material? Students have been working in groups to tackle these problems, and along the way, they have been asking great questions.
