Then we will move onto work with triangles and surface area. As we work through this unit on Area, we are also learning and practicing organization and study skills &#8211; a must for these new middle schoolers!\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Integrated Math<\/strong> &#8211; Students in Integrated Math have been working with translations, reflections, and rotations-identifying moves and creating them, both in groups and individually. Using the \u201cTaco Bell\u201d scale (mild, hot, fire, diablo), students chose a path to best prepare for an understanding check.<\/p><p><strong>Algebra 1<\/strong> &#8211; Students in Algebra 1 have continued to work with data by learning the definitions of various distribution types as well as measures of center and variability. They will use this knowledge on an understanding check this week. One of the ways they shared their learning with each other was through a jigsaw activity, where students became \u201cexperts\u201d in a topic and then shared their expertise with other students, ensuring that all students felt somewhat comfortable with their level of understanding of all topics.<\/p><p><strong>Geometry<\/strong> &#8211; Students have been challenged to create perpendicular and parallel lines, angle bisectors, and polygons using only a straightedge and compass. Since we\u2019ve measured with rulers and protractors for years, students have had to retrain themselves to use the properties of circles and lines to create figures with precision and reproducibility.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section data-particle_enable=\"false\"
