It’s already been a week since our all-school day of service at the Watershed! Upper School had a wonderful time learning about this park and pitching in, and we were grateful for perfect weather. Our guides were fantastic, quizzing us on trees native to Missouri (more challenging to identify in the spring before leaves!), and explaining how our work would help the environment. We split into a few groups, with many students working to spread gravel over a grid on a path and another group working to clear brush and gather it into piles for a future bonfire. We’re excited about future service learning opportunities at the Watershed and other local organizations. Many thanks to all those who helped to plan to the day and to those who helped as drivers and volunteers!
It was great to see how students worked together to accomplish the tasks of the day, such as lifting buckets of gravel and moving trees and heavy limbs.
