Photojournalism
In photojournalism, students have been taking photos around the school and developing their photography skills. They have also been working diligently on the early stages of the 2019-20 yearbook, connecting with teachers from Lower School classes for their insight on classroom happenings. The vision for the yearbook is exciting, and we’re enjoying watching it come to life!
Consumer Arts
In consumer arts, students have been thinking about their dream jobs, doing research to discover what requirements exist for that career path, and have been crafting resumes. They are also working on mock interviews in those future fields to practice important skills.
Geography
Seventh grade students have been working to learn more about the African continent, including some major landmarks and sites to see and the animals that contribute to African habitats and the environment. From here, we will begin our study of Asian countries and geography.
Model United Nations
In Model United Nations, students began the year with a Mr. Powers-designed STEM challenge – constructing the tallest, strongest tower with limited materials and a limited budget. It was so much fun to watch groups work together to accomplish this task, realizing what worked well and where they needed to tweak their designs.
