Supporting Your Student in Math: Visual Mathematics

In math classes recently, students have been working with a variety of visual and manipulative tasks. Whether cutting and folding nets to match 3D solids or matching and sorting cards that show graphs and tables, students are seeing in order to understand math concepts. Research shows that mathematical thinking involves visual pathways, so we are encouraging and using visual tasks regularly in our math classes.
