Culinary Arts

Summit high school students in culinary arts have done an excellent job with their healthy/fall foods unit. Each student is responsible for planning and preparing a recipe that is either healthy or fall themed. So far, they have created Brussel’s sprouts, lettuce wraps, sautéed mushrooms, and dumplings. Students are making great progress in reading recipes carefully, involving other students in the lesson, practicing their knife skills, and working as a group. Next up we tackle baking, as students have selected to put pumpkin pie, apple pie, and apple crisp on the menu!

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area.
