Geometry

The last couple of weeks we have been working on a unit in coordinate geometry. We have studied 1) slope of a line, 2) midpoint between two points, 3) calculating the distance between two points, 4) deciding if two lines are perpendicular, 5) reflections over the x- and y-axes, 6) rotations of figure about the origin, 7) translations of figure given a certain vector, 8) reflections over the lines y=x, y=-x. The geometry final is this coming Monday and students are tested over these eight topics. After the final, we work on reflection through a point, and dilations. For the last week of school, we will use the state’s practice test geometry to measure students’ learning over the year.
