Social Studies Update

Sixth Grade:

Sixth grade did a fabulous job on their tiny nations presentations last week, and this week they’re digging in to deep learning of the middle ages. We read portions of the Magna Carta in class on Monday, and we’ve been discussing the rule of law and hierarchies within medieval societies. Yesterday, students learned the steps to becoming a knight and designed their own coat of arms.

Seventh and Eighth Grade:

Students in this world history class are learning about the Renaissance this week. They’re digging in to significant contributions made during this time, and they’re learning about the influence the Crusades had upon education, science, medicine, and literature for European culture.

High School:

High school students completed the two portions of their final exam last week, diligently showing mastery of the topics we’ve learned over the past months. This week, we’ll discuss more modern history and take a look at current events, tying those historical topics into our view of the present.
