Brea Brown is so excited to join the faculty of The Summit as the Early Learners Blue head teacher! Mrs. Brown has been in education for many years and has taught at just about every level from PreK to second grade, middle and high school, and even entry level college courses. Through all these experiences, Mrs. Brown has found her true passion and calling in supporting 3-to-5-year-old learners! She loves teaching and learning with these students as they discover the joy of education through play, exploration, and discovery.
Mrs. Brown’s family consists of her husband, Jeff; three grown children, Danielle, Linnea and Colin; and their two pets, Jack, their dog, and Prince, their cat. Mrs. Brown loves making memories with her family, traveling and spending time together! She enjoys capturing these moments through photography and creating scrapbooks to document all of life’s moments. She also loves a good shopping trip to a local market or TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. And of course, she loves working with your students every day!
Meet Mrs. West
The assistant teacher is Halina West. She grew up in the North of England, attending Didsbury Teacher Training College. She obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in 1974 and taught first grade in England and The Bahamas before relocating to Springfield in 1988. In 1994, she opened and ran a state licensed preschool until she retired in 2012. Halina enjoys traveling to England and Europe and spending time with her sisters, and her four great nieces. She is married and has two daughters, a step son, a step daughter, a 2 year old grandson, and two step-grandchildren who live in Louisiana. During her spare time, Mrs. West loves to garden, work on crossword puzzles, and has started learning to play pickleball.
We are eager to do a lot of learning, laughing, exploring, creating and growing together with each other this school year!
