My name is Linda Michaliszyn. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year!
I am originally from Chicago. My husband and I have been married for 34 years. We have 4 children, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 dog and 1 bird!
I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career in an inner city childcare center. I went on to teach Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. We moved to Springfield 12 years ago. Since then, I have been a Director for a child care program in our area.
I am very excited to be at The Summit and thrilled to be your child’s teacher.

Hello!
My name is Halina West and I am excited for this year.
I grew up in the North of England, attending Didsbury Teacher Training College. I obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in 1974 and taught first grade in England and The Bahamas before relocating to Springfield in 1988. In 1994, I opened and ran a state-licensed preschool until I retired in 2012.
I enjoy traveling to England and Europe and spending time with my sisters, who are both teachers, and my four great niece two gn. I am married and have two daughters, a step son a step daughter, and two step-grandchildren.
During my spare time, I love to garden and work on crossword puzzles.
I can’t wait to see what this year holds for us!
