Dear 2nd Grade Parents,

At every Morning Meeting we check our Daily Reviews.  We are also expected to make corrections before we bring them home.  In Word Work our new word patterns were -irt,-ort, and -urn.  In Art we are learning about tints and shades.  A tint is when you add white to a color and a shade is when you add black to a color.  In Social Studies we are researching invented things.  And remember that the typed report and presentation of our inventions are due next Wednesday.  In Word Work we used spellingcity.com to practice to our spelling words.  On Friday, the top boy and girl who spent the most time on ixl.com had lunch with Ms. Tarrasch.  They were Evan and Claire.  The top boy and girl with the most integrity points during lunch were Weston and Madeline. We’re Writing Friendly Letters in writing and using complete sentences and pronouns.  In Math we are doing 2 digit subtraction and addition with regrouping and working on place value to the ten thousandths place.  In Science we are still studying Simple Machines.  We had our 5th grade Reading buddies visiting us this morning.  We are having Recess inside for now due to cold weather and muddy playground. In Spanish we are learning sporting  names.  Look at what our student photographers are taking pictures of!

Your friends,

Annabel Stenger and Devin Landrum
