Read Across America Day

February 27th marks our celebration of Read Across America Day at The Summit. While the national day falls on March 2nd, we’re getting a head start on the festivities. This day is all about embracing the joy and significance of reading. We’ll encourage all students to pick up a book and discover the magic of stories and literature. It’s a time when schools nationwide unite to promote literacy, foster a love for reading, and acknowledge books’ crucial role in our lives. At The Summit, students will take part in various events, activities, and reading challenges that showcase the fun and educational benefits of reading. It’s a perfect opportunity to delve into new ideas within the pages of a good book.

Additionally, any students that wish to participate may dress up on February 27th as their favorite book character (no uniform buy-out fee). Every student will also get to enjoy a designated sustained reading time during the day; feel free to bring in a book from home! This is a chance to spotlight the characters who have inspired and entertained us while inspiring others to explore the wonderful worlds found within their favorite books. If you would like more information about Read Across America Day, please take a look at their website which is attached.
