2nd Graders Use Tinkercad to Design Bird-Friendly Homes

Our 2nd graders are taking creativity and compassion to new heights—literally! Using Tinkercad, a 3D design tool, these young innovators have been designing custom birdhouses to help the birds in our area.

With guidance from their teacher, students researched local bird species, and various types of homes.  They then used Tinkercad to bring their ideas to life, creating virtual prototypes of cozy shelters for our feathered friends.

This project not only taught them about design thinking and engineering but also encouraged an appreciation for wildlife conservation. Some students even added creative touches like tiny perches, rainproof roofs, and colorful designs to make the homes both practical and beautiful! Below are a few that have been printed.
