Third Grade Update!

Here’s a look at next week’s agenda!

Math
Students will continue practicing two digit by one digit division and will begin learning how to divide three digit numbers by one digit numbers. We will also work through multistep word problems to build strong problem solving strategies and confidence with real world math applications.

Science
After finishing heat energy’s key concepts, we are moving into light energy. This week, students will explore how light behaves, including reflection and the differences between transparent, translucent, and opaque materials. After the break, we will move into our hands on refraction experiment.

Reading
We have officially finished reading The Tale of Despereaux! Students are working on the final sections of their reading journals, which include character analysis, theme, and other comprehension skills. We will also mix in some fun literacy activities, such as vocabulary crosswords and rating the book.

Writing
Students will continue developing their personal narratives. In addition, each student will begin selecting and creating one project for the L.A.D. Fair, choosing from categories such as poetry or another form of creative writing.

Friday will be our winter party and early release.
Have a wonderful weekend!
