Field Trip to Butterfly Palace

We went on our field trip to the Butterfly Palace! It was a great celebration of our learning, and each student was able to share their connections and knowledge about butterflies and other insects while we were there. Once we arrived in Branson, we watched a movie about the butterfly life cycle and migratory patterns. The movie provided amazing real-life imagery, and we even used 3D glasses to experience it. We also learned the rules and expectations when entering the butterfly room.

After the movie, we entered the butterfly room, where we had a fun time exploring and observing various butterflies of all varieties and colors. Some lucky students were even allowed to release a new butterfly into the room! Additionally, butterflies landed on many of us as we held fake flowers with nectar.

We also had the opportunity to meet a blue-tongued skink and learn some interesting facts about it. In addition, we visited the rainforest room where we saw chameleons, tree frogs, skinks, snakes, and more! This year, they created a huge log slide. Students were able to go through the obstacle course to reach the slide! They even got to go to a room where they made their own binoculars. Before heading back to The Summit, we enjoyed lunch and played on the playground at Stockstill Park. Overall, it was a perfect day for a field trip!
