Earth Day

Earlier this week, kindergarteners took on the role of Earth helpers during a fun and thoughtful classroom activity. To start, they played a game in which they looked at actions like recycling, littering, planting trees, and wasting water, and decided whether each was good or bad for the Earth. The students eagerly shared their ideas, often explaining why something helped or harmed the planet.

After the game, each student completed the sentence stem: “I can help the Earth by…” Their answers were both creative and inspiring, ranging from “picking up trash” to “turning off the lights when not using them” and “planting flowers.” To wrap it up, the students drew colorful pictures of the Earth. The activity not only helped them think about caring for the environment, but also showed how even the smallest actions can make a big difference.
