A Week in the Life of 2nd Grade…

Nov. 28-Dec. 2, 2011

by Annabel Stenger and Devin Landrum

  • In morning meeting we did a cooperation activity where we get in a circle and try to sit on each others lap without being able to talk to each other.
  • We switched reading groups and we read a different biography and answered a question packet.
  • This week our word patterns were -art, -une, and -erk.
  • The students who had the most intergrity lunch points were Annabel, Devin, Dani, and Weston and they got to eat lunch with Ms. Tarrasch and listen to fun music.
  • In math we are learning how to regroup with two digit subtraction using touch math.
  • We are re-learning how to write letters the right way.
  • In science we are learning about simple machines and we can bring some in to share with the class.
  • We made a lever mobile out of paperclips and straws.
  • We read books with our 5th grade reading partners.
  • In character development we are studying the word cooperation-which means working together.
  • In music we are learning a french song.
  • In snack shack there there are new items like fruit and hot chocolate-yum!
  • Prepare for a great weekend!
