2nd grade yoga

Welcome back from spring break.  Second grade will only have 6 more yoga classes this year.  I feel like this year in particular has flown by, but it has also been my favorite year of teaching so far.  I look forward to seeing your child again for 3rd grade.

This week we talked about what we like most about ourselves.  They were asked to pick out a characteristic that they thought was their best one.  I heard responses such as, being the best at video games, being artistic, being nice and being helpful.  I enjoyed their responses but I also enjoyed challenging them to think about themselves in this positive way.   Beyond doing movements and postures, my goal for the students is to teach them to be mindful of themselves and learn what works best for their bodies, physically and emotionally.
