Our Control Center

The first body system we studied was the nervous system.  It’s the control center of our body.   It controls everything we do, including breathing, walking, thinking, and feeling. This system is made up of our brainspinal cord, and all the nerves of your body. The brain is the control center and the spinal cord is the major highway to and from the brain.  We worked hard on these basic understandings.

We made candy spinal cords to help us better understand how the spinal cord works.

We created neurons and then connected them to help us understand how neurons connect to send and receive messages to and from the brain.

Using playdoy, we created the parts of the brain, labeled them and explained what each part does.
