Second grade is so lucky to have so many parents in the medical field!  We are taking advantage of the situation! We’ve been visited by two physicians thus far in our study of the human body.  Dr.Papsdorf, a neurologist, shared her vast knowledge of the human brain as we were learning about the nervous system.  Dr. Rivas is an  endocrinologist. Endocrinologists specialize in hormonal issues and the glands that produce these hormones. She specializes in diabetes which develops when the pancrease does not produce insulin as it should do.  So much information was gained by students and teacher alike.  We will have more experts as our study continues.
