What is Scoot?

Playing Scoot is one of second graders’ favorite activities!  It is so flexible.  You can use Scoot for math facts, human body information, author’s purpose and many other topics.  We’ve been playing it since the first week of school.  Scoot is an engaging question and answer game that can be used with children of all ages in just about any subject area.  Scoot can be used with any subject and students of all ages, making it a versatile tool for learning. It is also very motivating for students, so they are likely to stay engaged and on-task. The teacher places question cards all over the classroom.  Each card has a number.  Students are given a recording sheet with corresponding numbers to each question.  They figure out the answer to the question card and record in the appropriate box on the recording sheet.  For example, the answer for desk number 17 should go in box number 17.   Take a look!
