Engineering on the Fly: Our Turkey-in-Disguise Parade

What a joyful celebration of teamwork and design thinking! Yesterday’s Turkey-in-Disguise Parade brought enormous creativity, big excitement—and yes, a few big last-minute engineering design problems. Feathers detaching, tape losing its stickiness, disguises weighing down balloons, … you name it, we solved it! Our second graders put their problem-solving skills to the test, making quick adjustments and clever fixes to keep their disguised turkeys parade-ready. It was hands-on learning at its finest—resourceful, resilient, and full of laughter.

A huge thank you to our incredible videographer, Sarah Fry, for capturing every colorful moment, and to the staff and students who lined the halls and cheered us on. Your applause, smiles, and encouragement made the parade feel truly special and highlighted the importance of community support.
