Outdoor Education

Second Trimester in Outdoor Ed. has been focused on environmentalism and sustainability. Educators from Missouri River Bird Observatory and Missouri Stream Teams United visited and discussed plastic pollution. Students learned about the causes and effects of plastic pollution, examined a plastic shirt under a microscope, and replicated trash moving through waterways to the ocean. Then they created signs to be used during a lunch audit where we will collect and count all the different types of trash thrown away during lunch in one day.
