Nature Center Field Trip

Summit second graders visited the Springfield Nature Center on April 1st. No joking, we all had a great trip learning about invasive species plants that take over our environment and choke out our native Missouri plants and wildflowers. Our Outdoor Education teacher, Mrs. Bowsher led our class down the trail and then help set up a  volunteer activity. We gave back to our community by volunteering our time and strong backs to remove two large trash bags full of invasive plants from an area of the trail.  We were tired and sweaty on our return back up the trail to the shuttle, but full of knowledge and the gift of accomplishment that we all feel after helping others and our shared community hiking trail.

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area. Our preparatory school setting offers an enriching early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum in a supportive environment. We have state of the art facilities, highly-qualified teachers and staff, and a large range of educational programming. Interested in enrolling your child? Learn more about our admissions process.
