๐ŸŒฒ Our First Week Adventure! ๐Ÿ•๏ธ

What a wonderful first week of second grade! We officially have our first few days under our belts, and now we are ready to head into our first full week together!

This week was all about building our classroom community and getting to know the people we will be learning, growing, and adventuring alongside this year. We spent lots of time talking about what it means to be part of a community and what each of us can do to make our classroom a place where everyone feels safe, happy, respected, and ready to learn.

One of the highlights of our week was creating our Classroom Contract together. Rather than simply being given a list of rules, our students helped decide what we need from one another to have the kind of classroom we want. We talked about how we want to be treated, how we can take care of one another, and what being a good member of our classroom community looks and sounds like. Once we agreed on our promises to one another, every member of our class signed the contract! It will stay in our classroom as a reminder that we all have a part in making our classroom a great place to be. โค๏ธ

Of course, we also had plenty of fun! We completed lots of getting-to-know-you activities, shared about ourselves, learned more about our classmates, practiced our new routines, and started building friendships.

These first few days have given us a great foundation, and I am so excited to see where our adventures take us as we begin our first official full week of second grade!
