This week, our school came together for another Town Hall meeting!
During Town Hall, we heard some important announcements, had birthday shout-outs, and learned about exciting upcoming dates. It’s always fun to gather as a school community and stay connected!
One of the meaningful parts of our meeting was when the Student Leadership Council shared a story about focus. The story reminded us that everyone’s mind can wander sometimes, and that’s okay! What matters is noticing it and bringing our attention back to the task at hand.
Students had time to reflect on the concept of focus. We thought about:
-
What helps us stay focused?
-
What distracts us?
-
What can we do when our mind starts to drift?
As a 3/4/5 group, we set a goal to remind ourselves to refocus more quickly during class.
Maven the Raven was a part of this presentation and helped encourage us to do our best, stay on track, and remember that focus is a skill we can practice and improve every day.
This meeting helped students think carefully about what focus means to them and reminded them that focus is a part of being responsible learners.
Have a great weekend! 🙂
