Guest Musicians, November 18

On Monday, first, second, fourth, and fifth graders were treated to an awesome presentation on the string instruments of the symphony orchestra. Summit parent, Carla Geter, told us all about the violin and viola. My son, Torsten, demonstrated the cello, and Summit parent, Riley Robison, presented the double bass. Students saw first hand the different sizes of the instruments, learned about their commonalities and differences, heard different styles of music played on each, learned about careers in music, and even got to try the instruments out!  Students were engaged and  asked thoughtful questions. I have lots of great pictures and videos to share with you, but am currently unable to get my phone and computer to talk to one another! Hopefully, I can provide those in a later post.
