5th Grade Yoga

Welcome back! I hope you had a meaningful, restful holiday break.

We are starting a new project in 5th grade yoga this semester. I’m teaching your student the basics of yoga classes, breaking down fundamental poses, breathing techniques, mindfulness and the importance of rest. Each student will then create their own yoga class and present it. This project will take several weeks. My hope is that each student learns more about the practice and how to apply it to their lives.

Once they construct their own classes, it will consist of 4 components: 1 breathing technique, a short flow sequence with movements standing and seated, a mindfulness (reflection) question, and rest. Each student will have full creativity on how it goes. I know some students are already very excited.
