Week of 3/2 – 3/6

Remember that Friday is a Plastic-Free-Lunch day to raise awareness about trash and single-use plastics. Here’s what we are doing on this full week of school!

Reading: Students began their second novel study of the year!  Our focus is “Teamwork makes the dream work!” Throughout the novel study we will be pausing to talk about what these books can tell us about teamwork and how embracing each others’ differences make us all stronger!

Writing: Students are working on their literary essays.  We are using the 5 paragraph essay format again, this time analyzing literature.  Students will also be incorporating direct quotations from their novels into their writing.

Language Study: It’s a spelling week – quiz on Friday.

Social Studies: Students are giving their presentations this week and next week as we dig into the Age of Exploration.

Science: What is life?  We will discuss the definition this week.

Math: Students will learn about multiplying and dividing numbers with decimals this week.  The assessment on decimals will take place next week.
