February 28, 2022: Seuss Week – The Cat in the Hat Comes Back!

Happy Monday! The Cat in the Hat is here for Seuss week! Early Learners were quick to notice our giant Cat in the Hat stuffed animal moved to the front of the room. That must mean…it’s Seuss week! This week in correlation with Read Across America Day (Wednesday) we will be spotlighting a few of Dr. Seuss’s iconic stories. We love to take this opportunity to explore the rhyming patterns, imaginary characters, and Seuss-ish words that come along with these books.

Today, Early Learners explored The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. Most friends are familiar with the original Cat in the Hat story. But, do you know what happens when he returns? It is a snowy day (seems appropriate for our weather of late!) and the kids are just trying to do as their mother has asked and clear the snow away. The Cat comes to help. But, of course, he has his own special helpers. Be sure to ask your Early Learner to practice their recall skills and give you a synopsis of the story! What did Cat have in his hat? What would you do if you had your own VOOM?!
