🌦Rain or Shine: May Brings Big Smiles!🌦

As we step into the bright and blooming month of May, it’s hard to believe how much our Early Learners have already accomplished this year! With only a few days left in the school year, we’ve had some truly special moments recently, from celebrating connections between generations on GrandFriends Day to embracing the joy of music and movement during our T3 Bike Day (even with a rainy twist!). Here’s a look at some of the learning and memories we’ve made this week.

🌼 GrandFriends Day:

One of the most heartwarming events we’ve experienced recently was GrandFriends Day, where our preschoolers had the chance to share their learning and projects with their loved ones. The excitement was palpable as children invited their grandparents, family friends, and older neighbors to join us for a day full of storytelling, play, and exploration.

During the visit, families had the opportunity to look through the Early Learners portfolios, which provide a wonderful snapshot of each child’s growth throughout the year. The portfolios highlight everything from early art projects to developmental milestones and give a true sense of how far the children have come. For our young learners, it was an opportunity to proudly showcase their achievements and share the skills they’ve worked so hard to develop.

This day not only celebrated the children’s growth but also reinforced the importance of intergenerational connections. It was a beautiful reminder of the unique bonds that form between children and the adults who shape their lives.

🎶 Trimester 3 Celebration:

Another highlight in our spring calendar was the T3 celebration – a day dedicated to celebrating the growth and development of our learners. We had a Bike Day planned, however, as is often the case with spring weather, a rainstorm had other plans for us! Rather than letting the weather dampen our spirits, we adapted and brought the fun indoors. Our indoor space transformed into an obstacle course, with scooters, bouncing balls, and other fun equipment giving the children a chance to race, roll, and bounce their way through the day. The smiles, laughter, and competitive spirit were just as strong as ever, reminding us that sometimes, a little improvisation leads to even more fun than we originally planned!

🌷 Welcoming May:

As we move into May, the energy and mood around school is overflowing with joy!! The warmth of the season encourages curiosity and exploration, and our classrooms are buzzing with new ideas and excitement for what’s next. We’re diving into our final activities of the year, with lots of outdoor play, creative learning, and plenty of opportunities to reflect on everything we’ve learned together. We are having plenty of fun as we finish the year strong!

We are counting down our days to the end of the school year by tearing off links from our End of School Countdown Chain. Each link marked a day closer to summer, and the excitement is building as we approach the final stretch of school!

And here’s to a wonderful May filled with joy and adventure!  💙 -Mrs. Beard
