We have begun our literacy review and students are impressing me! We started with reviewing the sound that letter c makes as well as how we form it. Afterwards, we moved into o, a, d, and then g will be later in the week. Take a look at these photos to see how students can turn the letter c into several other lowercase letters!
Our morning table time activities reflect aspects of our literacy review and have included letter play doh mats as well as letter memory games.
There is also an option for students to strengthen fine motor and counting skills. We refer to the activity as “shooting stars counting” where students grab a star with a number at the top, then place the appropriate amount of beads on the attached pipe cleaner. All of these morning table activities are fueled by student choice, so they select what is most interesting to them!
Reminder: Tomorrow is a late start!
