Early Learners Yellow finished their week about Colors on the Farm. During the last three weeks, the students have explored many topics about farming and reinforced color recognition and association, as well as expanding vocabulary and visual skills. in addition to memory and problem-solving skills. Math skills, including categorization, patterning and sorting, were utilized with farm animals and farm equipment.
Our “Author of the Month“, Laura Numeroff, is a favorite of preschoolers. We read her book, “If You Give a Cat a Cupcake”. We let the students vote and chart their favorite flavor of frosting and cake, with chocolate being the overwhelming choice. The students were excited to make cupcakes and frost them. They were delicious!
The students have been working diligently on the Early Learners’ Cooperative Mural for Grandfriends Day. The children have made a rainbow with their handprints, designed flowers, and created butterflies, ladybugs and bees.
