Creating a Print Rich Environment

Early Learners Yellow continue working at Murphy Mart. We have added a food scale and several food containers. Children gain confidence and see themselves as readers when they recognize familiar brands, signs, and labels. Environmental print helps children connect familiar symbols and logos to reading. This fosters print awareness and develops vocabulary, as well as phonemic awareness.

The students continue to work on fine motor skills in multiple ways. By making practice feel like play, these activities increase student’s confidence and stamina for writing.

The children got to experience yoga on the deck today.

We are nearing Summit’s annual celebration of día de los muertos (Day of the dead), a traditional Mexican holiday which celebrates the lives of family members and friends who have passed on. Summit has several beloved traditions, and more details are to come about that as we get closer, but for right now I would love to share with you the order form for this year’s spirit wear t-shirt for día de los muertos.

You can order your very own spirit wear t-shirt at the following link:https://payit.nelnet.net/form/6QjvWGYf

Shirts are $12 and range in sizes from youth XS to adult 3XL. The order form will close on Friday at noon!
