Stormy Weather

What makes weather? Last week, first graders enjoyed hear the book The Magic School Bus Kicks Up a Storm! for read aloud to learn that air, water, and heat mixed together make the weather.  The book came to life in a discovery streaming video.

Today, working in pairs, students read Stormy Weather. Incorporating phoics skills, they hunted for blends throughout the book.  Words found included clouds, blocked, storm, grew, drive, slowly, strong, blow, flashed, scared, cracked, and many more!
