A Peek into México

After a few days of Spanish lessons full of reviewing/learning numbers, colors, and shapes. I decided we were due for a different kind of lesson about an equally important subject: culture.

My Spanish-speaking country of expertise is México as I have served, interned, and worked in an orphanage in the city of Reynosa over the past two summers. This past Thursday, I showed my classes pictures of my experiences. It was a thrill to introduce a sliver of a different culture to them! And I was elated to have the opportunity to brag about the great food I ate! The 1st Graders were especially eager to learn everything, and they asked the best questions!

I can’t wait to continue introducing different cultures in our class!
