Herb and Vegetable Garden

We spent our Science class building two classroom gardens! One of them is a vegetable garden, grown in a clear planter, so we can watch the roots form and grow. We are growing carrots, turnips, and green onion. The other one is an herb garden with chives, basil, and oregano.

The class worked in two groups for the projects. The herb garden group got to paint the outsides of their pots and I love how they turned out! It will take weeks to see the growth happen but students will be monitoring it weekly.

This project coincides with our upcoming topics of plant and animal structures and functions. Next week we will dive into plants and animals on the cellular level! I foresee a lot of intrigue in these topics. Have a great weekend!
