Classroom Community Building

Third graders have been spending the first part of each morning recess participating in a fun whole group game. Each recess a new student chooses the game, explains it to the class, and then we spend 5-10 minutes playing it. This has been a great opportunity for students to practice social skills in a relaxed, non-competitive way. Today at morning meeting, they shared with me that they feel they have been learning how to get along better during games. They have been doing awesome the past week with their team work during games and sports. Go third graders!
