Historical Fiction and a Celebratory Lunch

Today, we started reading Johnny Tremain as a class.  It took nearly 20 minutes to get through the first two pages!  Not because the book was difficult, but because it paints such a rich and vivid picture of a time set in the past.  We paused to discuss how apprenticeships worked, how the work of colonial men and women differed, what different articles of clothing looked like, and how colonial cities were organized around a Common.  Just 2 pages in and we are already furthering our knowledge of life in the British colonies in North America!

Also this week, we celebrated taking our final ERB test with a special lunch!  Thank you to Angela for organizing and delivering!  It was a real treat!
