Week of 5/4-5/8

It’s the last full week of school!  The fifth graders are working hard to wrap up final learning and projects for the year.  We’re also gearing up for our 3rd trimester celebration next week! Here’s what we’ve been learning about:

Reading: Our second book club ends this week.  Students even seemed sad to hear this staple of fifth grade daily life was coming to an end.  Anyone up for organizing some summer book clubs?

Writing: Students are finishing up their Best Part of Me projects!

Social Studies: We wrapped up learning about New Spain, New France, and New Netherlands.  Last on our list: the British colonies in North America!

Science: We are learning about the classification of life this week!

Math: We’re wrapping up our final math learning for the year with a test on ratios and rates this Thursday.  After that, we are doing a bit of review to round out our year of math!

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area.
