Upon returning to school from our long 4 day weekend I saw that our caterpillars had emerged out of their chrysalises! We had 4 beautiful butterflies waiting for us! The students were thrilled to see this development after they have been so patiently waiting during this process. We took the butterflies out to recess with us and released them along with the yellow class’s butterflies! Mrs. M’s butterflies were all flying at the top of the net and ready to go but our butterflies needed a little more encouragement, haha. They all eventually took flight as the Early Learners cheered them on!
Later after rest time one of the students enthusiastically noticed one of our butterflies at the window! It was bumping up against the glass as if it wanted back into our classroom, haha. I told the students that was the butterfly saying thank you to us for taking care of it! It was a special moment that I hope the students will carry with them.
This week we are celebrating Warren as our Star Student this week! Warren enjoyed sharing his poster with us and several interesting and fun items from home!
