How Our Bodies Move

This week we are talking about how our bodies move! We’re starting with a simple introduction to the skeletal and muscular systems and how they work together to help us move, stretch, and play. Today, we focused on the muscular system. Muscles are the soft parts of our bodies that help us move. When we bend our arms, wiggle our fingers, jump, or smile, our muscles are doing the work! We talked about how muscles can stretch and squeeze to help our bodies move in different ways. Then we put our muscles to work by going under and over an obstacle course, using our arms, legs, and stomach muscles. We also used our neck, arm, and hand muscles to hold our heads and hands up while we slid down a piece of paper and drew at the same time. It was a fun way to feel our muscles working and learn how strong our bodies are!
